When you need to fill the gaps in your data, analysis or expertise let Cicada GIS help you find a custom solution to meet your needs. Let us show you the power of maps for answering your questions and conveying your message. Some examples of recent Cicada GIS projects include:
A nonprofit seeking to improve livability and walkability in the dense inner suburbs of Baltimore engaged Cicada GIS to perform spatial analysis to help them evaluate and prioritize open space for preservation. Part of this work was presented at the 2016 Maryland Environmental Trust Land Conservation Conference. You can view the presentation here.
Cicada GIS performed a three stage analysis of stormwater issues in Baltimore City. The scope of the problem was assessed, the available financial resources were quantified, and sites were prioritized for location of potential stormwater facilities. You can view the presentation given at the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Regional Water Conference.
A college was looking for a way to improve access to their engineering drawings. Cicada GIS provided technical support in developing a secure web mapping portal for finding and displaying the drawings. Cicada GIS developed the Java tool that converts the college's drawing database into a user friendly web based navigation system.
A nonprofit arboretum has engaged Cicada GIS to transition its plant mapping database from a proprietary system that did not meet its needs to a state of the art geographic information system. Cicada GIS has customized a web mapping application to aid the arboretum with public outreach, helping to spread their message about the value of native plants.
